Veteran Ollywood Icon Uttam Mohanty Airlifted to Gurgaon Hospital for Critical Care
Veteran Odia film legend Uttam Mohanty was urgently airlifted to Gurgaon’s Medanta Hospital on Saturday after his health deteriorated.
His son, actor Babushaan Mohanty, confirmed the move, stating his father requires advanced treatment for liver-related complications.
Mohanty had been undergoing care at a Bhubaneswar hospital, where doctors detected worsening liver issues.
Though stabilized on a ventilator, his family sought specialized intervention at Medanta. A medical team accompanied him during the transfer.
With over 150 films across Odia, Bengali, and Hindi cinema (including Naya Zaher), Uttam Mohanty reigned as Odisha’s top star for two decades (80s–90s).
Married to actress Aparajita Mohanty, the couple’s son Babushaan now leads Ollywood.
From co-stars to filmmakers, tributes pour in for Mohanty’s contributions to Odia cinema. His journey from Baripada college stages to 135+ Odia films remains an inspiration.
As the actor battles health challenges, the industry unites in hope. Fans are urged to respect the family’s privacy and keep the legend in their thoughts.
